In 2010 I was appointed the Senior clinician of ACT Health’s Specialist Wheelchair & Postural Seating Services (SWAPS). 4 years in this key role provided opportunity to collaborate with service users to develop solutions for a wide range of wheelchair and seating problems. Developing the capability to design and manufacture fully custom moulded seating systems in Canberra was an achievement.

I moved to a sales role in the customised and specialist equipment team at Australia’s largest retailer of rehabilitation equipment. In a sales role, I learnt to understand and appreciate the supply industry in Australia.

Prior to forming Wheelchair Therapy, I worked in the Therapy ACT equipment team as we all navigated the transition to the NDIS.

HAROLD BROWN
Occupational Therapist

Wheelchair Therapy is a small practice operated by a single experienced therapist.

I have practiced as an Occupational Therapist since January 2005. For the most recent 7 years I have specialised in the provision of wheelchair, seating and assistive technology solutions.

Initially I practiced as a specialist wheelchair and seating therapist in a large specialist wheelchair clinic in London in 2009. Surrounded by a team of passionate, dedicated therapy and engineering  professionals I gained skills and appreciation of the benefits of specialist clinics.
